MADISON BEER | GIG REVIEW

If you're anything like me in terms of the accounts you follow on social media, you may already know that Madison Beer is currently on her As She Pleases tour. Having completed the UK leg of the tour just last week, the tour continues in the US at the end of the month. I attended her Nottingham show at the Bodega on the 28th and, in good old heyitsjodie fashion, this is my mini gig review.

As per usual, let's chat a lil bit about the support act first. The support was Kara Martin - a British singer whom I hadn't actually heard of until the night but, I will say, she was really good. I'm not sure that I'd rush out to see her again but I was definitely impressed with her.

So, the star of the show: Madison Beer. I have one word to describe her performance - incredible. Her voice is powerful and truly lovely to listen to. The atmosphere in the room was great - in fact, I didn't realise how popular over here she actually is and it's so great that she's getting the recognition she deserves because she is truly ridiculously talented.

Here's the set list:

  • Teenager In Love
  • Fools
  • Say It To My Face
  • Melodies / Unbreakable
  • Something Sweet
  • All For Love
  • Toxic (Britney Spears cover)
  • Tyler Durden
  • HeartLess
  • Home With You
{encore}
  • Dead
* Please note that I'm not 100% sure that I've got the set list 100% correct as I am unable to find it online to double check / reference!

To say Madison Beer is an emerging star would be an understatement - she put on a wonderful show and, while it was on the shorter side, it definitely showcased her talent. I love her music - there's some really delicate, heartfelt songs (like Tyler Durden) and then there's the absolute bangers like Home With You (aka my favourite) and Dead - arguably one of the biggest songs of the season.

The show was a great platform for Madison and, to be completely honest, I'm really intrigued to see where she goes and what she does next - as I've mentioned, I love her music so I'm very excited for her to release new tracks. If you're yet to listen to her music then please do so - you'll love it, I'm sure!

I'm sorry that this post is a little short and not overly detailed - and I'm also sorry that I've kind of been slacking with my blog lately. I've been drowning in deadlines and haven't had an overly large amount of time to really focus on my blog and write some good quality content but my deadlines are pretty much over within the next couple of weeks so I shall be back on my game very soon - thanks for bearing with me!
