LET'S TALK 2023 GOALS

Happy New Year, angels!

As is a bit of a tradition on my blog, I want to drop in and talk a bit about my goals and aims for the year ahead - not necessarily New Years resolutions, but just things I'd like to achieve in 2023. It may seem strange, especially given that I've become a little bit of a stranger on here lately, but I really value this time where I sit and think about the upcoming year and what I'd like to happen. Maybe it's just getting it written down and out into the universe, I don't know.

2022 was a crazy year. It was one in which so many things happened - both good and bad - yet a year that felt pretty underwhelming. I guess it could be because it was the first year with no Covid lockdowns - you know, the first 'normal' year for years. But something just felt off. That being said, I'll forever be grateful for the amazing things that happened over the course of the year - to name a few highlights: I went to New York City, managed to get to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix and the Formula E, went to Cyprus for my birthday, countless gigs and festivals, made so many amazing memories with my best friends and, of course, moved to Oxfordshire all alone to start a new job.

So what do I want from 2023?

Firstly, I need to drink more water. I spent a lot of the back end of 2022 trying to sort my health out because, as you'll know if you're an OG blog reader, it's not been the best for the last few years. Drinking water has always been a problem for me - ever since I was a little girl and even now, my mum tells me I don't drink enough. It's true. But I forget. And then I just want Diet Coke (an addiction, I can't lie). So, in 2023, I want to drink more water.

I want to start a new hobby. I've got a huge thing for clay earrings, and I always think about how fun it'd be to make my own so I would love to try and do that - even if I'm not very good at it!

I want to read more, and have time to truly enjoy it. A couple of years ago - I'd say in the midst of the pandemic - I went through an obsessive reading stage, and I loved it. I've always been a huge book gal, but I find it really difficult to find time to read around my job, so I'm going to try to go out of my way to make time to enjoy it.

Travel as much as possible! I'd love to go to Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris and Edinburgh this year - and I'd really love a sunny holiday too but that might be too greedy for my bank account at the moment!

Spend money more carefully. I'm talking not on millions of clothes, I'll be investing in good quality products instead (I'm thinking cosmetics and healthcare, rather than clothes that I'll inevitably get bored of - if I'm buying clothes, they need to be timeless pieces) and investing in experiences and people and making memories. I'll always back spending my money on good times rather than things, but especially this year - no more wasting money when there are more valuable ways to spend it.

Say yes! It's so important to be open to new opportunities, and I don't want to regret anything - so unless it's absolutely ridiculously crazy, I want to say yes to whatever I can. I feel like this is the time in my life where I can and should be making (reasonably) crazy decisions and doing things I wouldn't normally get the chance to, so while I have minimal commitments, why not?!

What are your resolutions or goals for the year?
