CURRENT FAVOURITES | AUGUST - OCTOBER 2017

It's that time again, my lovelies - current favourites time. This is where I'm sharing with you all the things I've been loving for the past couple of months.

First up is beauty favourites. There are a few beauty items I've been loving for the past few weeks - mainly eye products. The first of which is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I purchased this back in July for my sixth form prom and it's been a staple in my make up collection since. Honestly, I've barely strayed from using this palette - apart from when I've used another favourite of mine, the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. When the Naked Heat was initially announced, I was like 'it's me in a palette, but do I really need it?' and, long story short, I now own the palette. I'm in love with it and the shades 'Chaser', 'Sauced', 'Lumbre' and 'Dirty Talk' have been my go-to shades.

Another beauty favourite is the L'Oreal Paradise mascara. When this mascara launched in the States, I was desperate to get my hands on it so when it launched in the UK, I instantly bought it. I did actually do a review on this mascara back when I purchased it and, in that post, I did say that it was a contender for my favourite mascara - I can now confirm that this mascara does indeed hold the top spot. L'Oreal is one of my all time favourite brands anyway and this mascara didn't disappoint one bit - it's incredible, and so affordable.

A final beauty favourite from the past few weeks is a highlighter from Becca. You may have seen my Marbella haul in which I wrote about my splurge in Sephora where I purchased the Becca Opal highlight. I fell in love with this highlighter after swatching it back in Marbella and I am yet to fall out of love with it. I do have quite a big highlighter collection and so when I was picking my make up to take to university with me, I found it quite difficult to narrow down what to bring - I settled on the ABH So Hollywood highlighter and this one, and I'm so happy with my decision because the Opal highlighter has definitely been my go-to as it's nothing like anything I've owned before. It's stunning.

I have two fashion favourites for you today and the first of which are my Old Skool Vans. I've wanted this style of Vans for a while now and so, back in August, my Dad offered to purchase them for me - obviously, I took him up on the offer and they've barely left my feet since. They're so incredibly comfortable and, for someone who suffers with blisters on their feet, especially with new shoes, they haven't given me any blisters - absolute bliss. They're so easy to wear and I love them, hence why they're in my current favourites. The second of my fashion favourites are actually my Mom jeans from Topshop. I'm actually really shocked that I, a) purchased Mom jeans and, b) like Mom jeans. I've always been a 'skinny jeans or no jeans' kind of girl but, recently, I have been trying to branch out in terms of fashion and be a bit more adventurous - part of this is me buying Mom jeans and I've really been loving them.

I have a couple of book favourites to share today as I've been reading a lot more recently. The first of which is One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus. I read this book back when I was on holiday in Spain in early September and I was hooked - I finished it in two days and couldn't put it down. I won't spoil it but I do highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. My second of my book favourites is my favourite out of the two - Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies by Laura Stampler. I bought this probably about a year ago actually, to take to New York with me but I didn't have time to read it while I was there and forgot about it until this Summer when I took it on holiday with me. Honestly, this is one of the best books I've read in a long time - when I say I couldn't put it down, I mean I literally could not put it down. I finished it in a day and felt so invested in the story and I actually finished the book feeling really inspired and that's when you know it was a good book. I thought about it for days after finishing it and desperately want Laura Stampler to write more books because I'm obsessed with her writing.

For music favourites I have three favourite albums that I've been obsessed with lately. The first of which is Dua Lipa's debut album. I mean, come on, if you're not obsessed with Dua Lipa then what is wrong with you? She's insane and I love her. I so desperately want to go to her tour but I can't see that happening due to the timings and busy schedules of my friends. Sad times. The next album that I've been loving is Fifth Harmony's most recent album. I won't lie, when I first heard the album I was a bit disappointed. I thought 'it's not as good as their last album' and was slightly underwhelmed with it, however, the more I listened to it, the more it grew on me and I actually think that it's one of my favourite albums of theirs - I love it. My final favourite album is Zak Abel's debut album, Only When We're Naked. I've loved Zak for a good couple of years now and he never fails to amaze me with his talent. I haven't stopped listening to this album since it was released at the beginning of the month so, please, if you've not heard it then go and listen to it. Right now.

Designated Survivor is making a reappearance in my current favourites today as a new season is underway, with new episodes released every Thursday on Netflix. I really hyped this show up when it's first season was released and the second season is no disappointment - it's part of the reason I look forward to Thursdays (the other reason being that I have Fridays off uni so I have a long weekend) and, again, I'm hooked.

And on that note, that concludes my current favourites from the months of August to October. Keep an eye out for some exciting posts coming your way very soon and let me know what you've been loving too!
