WHAT I GOT FOR MY BIRTHDAY | 2017

If you follow me on any social media or have previously read my blog, you may already know that it was my birthday at the beginning of the month (October 5th, to be precise). Today, I'm keeping up with the (almost) yearly tradition of sharing with the world my 'what I got for my birthday' haul - enjoy!

I'll start with what my parents bought me. As it was my first birthday at university, my parents did come down to London for a few days so we went into central London on my actual birthday and visited Sky Garden and popped to Covent Garden for dinner and then on the Friday and Saturday we were in Brighton so that was kind of part of my present. My Mum also bought me some of my fave macaroons in Covent Garden so that was lovely.

Along with this, my parents got me a new tube of my fave Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - it's always on my birthday and Christmas lists because I use it everyday and it never hurts to have a back up.

I also got a couple of books from my parents because lately I've been reading a lot more (something I'm super happy about) and so obviously I need books to actually read. They bought me Public Relations by Katie Heaney and Arianna Rebolini which I'm actually super excited to start, along with Follow Me by Sara Shepard. This is the second book in The Amateurs series so I'm absolutely buzzing to start this one - I'm thinking of doing a book review post about it because I did one for the first Amateurs book and, spoiler alert, I loved it so I'm really interested to see if the second instalment lives up to my expectations!

Finally, they also bought me a Benefit gift set. It's actually a set from Benefit's Christmas range but I really wanted it so I'm so happy that I received it for my birthday. It's the City Lights, Party Nights set and it includes a full size of their Precisely, My Brow Pencil, a mini of their Dandelion Twinkle highlighter (which I'm extremely happy about because I was tempted to buy this highlighter in Sephora when I went to Marbella), aa mini of the They're Real mascara and finally a mini of the They're Real Double The Lip lipstick in the shade Nude Scandal - which I actually already own a mini of, and I'm in love with it so now I don't have to worry about running out. It also came with a super pretty purple make up bag.

My brother actually did so well this year (I'm sure my Mum helped him out on this one, though). He bought me some chocolate, a card holder from Oliver Bonas that I've had my eye on for a very long time so I'm super excited about that one and also the Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes eye contour kit - which I have used and I'm very impressed with! It's perfect for an everyday make up look.

Moving onto what my friends bought me - at the time of writing this post, I haven't actually received all of my friends presents because I'm at uni so we're waiting until we see each other when I go home for the weekend.

Sophie, one of my best friends, bought me some of my favourite presents. She bought me a super super pretty star bracelet from Oliver Bonas, which I'm actually in love with. It's super dainty but it is stunning and hasn't left my wrist since I opened it so I'm so happy with that one. She also got me the cutest cat socks from Oliver Bonas and, honestly, it's such a me present. I love it.

One of my other best friends, Emily, actually bought me a MAC eyeshadow that's been on my wish list for a while now - Nylon. I've heard so many great things about this eyeshadow and it has not disappointed me - it's so perfect for an inner corner highlight and it's incredible. She also got me a mini bottle of our fave wine (Blossom Hill White Zinfandel, for anyone who cares) and some chocolate so it was perfect.

Along with this, I also received some money and lots of chocolate and general kind of like care packages from people - including lots of snacks and drinks, which is perfect because I'm a poor student so I'll take all the free food I can get!

Obviously, this post was not intended in a bragging way - I'm just sharing with you what I received for my birthday. I am incredibly grateful for everything I received - from messages to cards and presents, I really appreciate it all. On that note, thanks for reading my birthday haul for 2017 and I'll see you very soon with some more exciting posts!
