♡ Festive Make Up ♡

It's crazy to think that this is likely to be my final post of the year (I still can't get over how quickly this year has flown by) but it's an exciting post. As promised, I'm sharing with you one of my go-to festive make up looks. I actually wore this make up to my friends and I's annual Christmas meal (we go out for a meal every year instead of buying eachother presents) and I really enjoyed wearing it. I think it's very versatile and super pretty, if I do say so myself. It's not a typical 'Jodie' look but it has honestly become one of my go-to looks for the festive season.

Firstly, I always start off with my base, and I used the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser primer. This is a recent purchase of mine and so far so good. I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the product - I know some people compare it to the Benefit Porefessional primer and I do see why.

I then went on to use the Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation. I picked this up while I was in New York and I'm genuinely obsessed with it. I love the formulation and coverage and generally enjoy using this foundation. However, I do only tend to use it on nights out or special occasions because, as we can't get it in the UK, I'm scared of running out!

For concealer, I used my two favourites - the Maybelline Eraser Eye concealer and the Seventeen Stay Time concealer and, at this point, I also used my LA Girl PRO eyeshadow primer and then set my base (including the eye primer) using the Make Up Revolution Translucent Pressed Powder.

I then went onto my eyeshadow. Using the Morphe 35F palette (I recently purchased this and it's so incredibly good, I am obsessed), I placed a light matte shade all over the lid, intensifying this at the crease. Then went in with a bright yellow gold shade in the centre of my lid, and a darker green / yellow gold on my outer corner. For my inner corner, I used the lightest white-silver shimmery shade to highlight, and then went back in with my matte shade in the crease, once again, to deepen the eye look and, of course, ensure that everything was nicely blended.

Then, I went in with my false eyelashes - using the Eylure Cheryl lashes in 'First Date', applying these and then using my Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara on my bottom lashes, and to blend my real lashes with my falsies. I also took this opportunity to add a little bit of product to my eyebrows (something I really don't tend to do, because I'm rubbish at eyebrows) so I used the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 eyeshadow palette and just applied a little tiny bit of 'Primal' to any sparse areas of my brows.

Then, I went back to my face make up. For contour and bronzer I used the Benefit Hoola Bronzer (aka my favourite bronzer of all time), and to highlight, I used the shade 'Nightlight' from the Make Up Geek Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette - once again, another incredible product.

And, finally, for lips I used a combination of three products. My lip liner is Candy K by Kylie Cosmetics, my lipstick is the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade 'Lolita' and, to add some shimmer and brighten up the lips a little bit, I topped this off with the MAC x Mariah Carey lipstick in the shade 'All I Want'. Also, can we please take a moment to appreciate how stunning the packaging of the MAC Mariah Carey collection is?! *Insert heart eye emoji here*

This is the final look:

So I'm super happy with how this look turned out, and I have no doubt that I will be re-creating this look lots over the rest of the festive season. I really hope you enjoyed this post and have a lovely Christmas. Thank you so much for reading this post (and my blog over the course of the past year). Merry Christmas! XO.
