♡ HOLIDAY SERIES 2016: Essentials!! ♡

We all have those items that we just cannot live without, especially in the Summer, or when we're on holiday - at least, I know I do. My holiday essentials consist of beauty, fashion and general lifestyle must haves, and I thought I'd write a post sharing my essentials with you.

BEAUTY ESSENTIALS - Perhaps the category with the most obvious Summer products in, but also the category that is also probably my favourite. Obviously, when you think Summer, or when you think holiday, you know that sun cream and SPF-fueled products are right up there at the top of the list of essentials. I just cannot go on holiday without being armed with sun cream - I do not wish to get sun burnt and endure all the lovely things that it entails, nope, no thank you. I also really like to have a super nice moisturizing body lotion - I'm still obsessed with the Victoria's Secret Sheer Love body cream. In terms of make up products, for a British summer, I love BB cream rather than a full on foundation - it's so much easier and comfortable to wear, and I really like the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream, but for a foreign summer or abroad holiday, I like to just have a pressed powder - which isn't too heavy but gives you the opportunity to be a little less shiny.

FASHION ESSENTIALS - First things first, you need a good pair of sunglasses. It's one of my absolute necessities and I just think that a pair of sunglasses (I actually like to take two pairs on holiday with me - one pair for swimming in, and another pair for daytime and evening, non-activity use) is a must have for the Summer time. I purchased a pair of super cute black sunglasses last year from Primark for something like £2 and I have not looked back since - I also have a floral pair from Forever 21 which I use for swimming and activities. Secondly, I think that a comfortable pair of shoes is very important, especially if you're planning on doing activities while you're out and about. Actually, even if you're not doing activities, I still think a comfortable pair of shoes is important since (especially in hot countries), you do not want your feet rubbing on your shoes and getting blisters and, take it from me, it's an even worse situation if you've got hot feet! This year I've become a huge fan of playsuits and I would even go as far as saying that it's one of my Summer staples - I'm obsessed. They're just so easy to wear and also super comfortable - and that's what you need during the hotter months of the year, so I would definitely argue that playsuits are one of my fashion essentials! And, finally, I just want to take a minute to talk about patterned trousers because this is a trend that I am absolutely loving - I purchased a pair from H&M last Summer and have been wearing them so frequently that they are also a Summer essential - they're so easy to wear, and look effortlessly gorgeous when they are worn.

GENERAL / LIFESTYLE ESSENTIALS - I don't really have that many general lifestyle essentials, but I will share the ones I do have. Firstly, I just need a good book to read on holiday (in fact, I need more than one good book to read on holiday since I have been known to read 6 books in a two week holiday) because, when I go on holiday, I actually sit and spend a lot of time reading - which is something I don't tend to do as much when I'm at home. I would share with you the books on my reading list for this Summer, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait a little bit as I do have a Summer Reading List post coming up very soon. I also love to take photos during the Summer, especially when I'm on holiday, so some sort of camera is essential for me - whether it be my phone's camera, a disposable camera or my proper camera, I adore taking photos so love to take the opportunity when I can during the Summer. Finally, a good Summer playlist is necessary for me. I listen to music literally most of the day when I'm at home, so I love to make a playlist full of all my current favourite songs and that's my go-to, until I get fed up of it. I've made a playlist on Spotify full of my faves at the moment so you can follow it or listen to it by clicking here.

And that concludes my Summer / Holiday Essentials post for this year, my friends! If you have any essentials you think I should know about, let me know either on social media (my links are on the sidebar of my blog, and on the About page of my blog) or in the comments. As I mentioned earlier, I've got a Summer Reading List post coming up very soon so don't forget to keep an eye out for that! Ciao, my lovelies!
