♡ ColourPop x Jenn Im + Order Process Review! ♡

As I write this post, I'm sat waiting for yet another one of my online purchases to be delivered (or another two of my online purchases to be delivered), and I thought 'why not write a lil review post of my ColourPop order and the order process?' so that is what I am doing. If you didn't know, ColourPop recently (finally) announced that they were introducing international shipping, and that this would be available from July 12th. I'm sure that I wasn't alone in being ecstatic about this announcement - ColourPop have been a brand that I've been dying to try products from for months now and to finally be able to officially purchase from the brand is super exciting.I had a huge, long list of products that I wanted to purchase but actually only ended up purchasing one - from the Jenn Im x ColourPop collaboration, the 'Jenn Ne Sais Quoi' eyeshadow quad.

In terms of the product itself, the quad includes four super shock shadows - 'Un' (a stunning champagne shade in a metallic finish), 'Deux' (a warm toned brown), 'Trois' (a brick red) and 'Quatre' (a black brown). I was pleasantly surprised with the formula of the shadows, they're very creamy and soft yet still extremely pigmented. Although I had heard this about ColourPop shadows before, I was still surprised with the extent of the creaminess of the product - I will admit that I did have a little panic at one point when I thought that the eyeshadow was melting (kind of an embarrassing moment there!). The shades are absolutely gorgeous and I genuinely think that the options and possibilities to create different looks are endless - a favourite look of mine is the one Jenn showed in her 'Jenn Ne Sais Quoi' Makeup Tutorial on her YouTube channel, though I do tend to miss out the step where she used 'Quatre' as a bit of an eyeliner, as I am just not an eyeliner kind of girl. My favourite shade from the quad is hands down 'Un' but, to be completely honest, that's not really surprising for me since I do tend to gravitate towards pinks, champagnes and metallic shades.

Regarding the order process itself, I wasn't necessarily impressed but I also wasn't disappointed. I'm sure everyone knows about the whole ColourPop / Kylie Cosmetics debacle, where it was rumoured that Kylie's products were made by ColourPop, blah blah blah but, having ordered from Kylie multiple times, I think I expected their shipping and order process to be relatively similar.

I was quite shocked about the expense of ColourPop's international shipping costs - it came to $15 for this order but shipping is calculated by the weight of the package so when I had more than just this item in my cart, it had come to $25 for shipping - hence the reason I did not order anywhere near as much as I originally wanted to. Yes, ColourPop's products themselves are quite inexpensive, but the shipping really bumped this up for me - I find it interesting that people were complaining that Kylie's shipping prices ($14.95 flat rate for international orders) are too expensive and saying that people should purchase from ColourPop instead because it's much cheaper when, in fact, my order was more expensive from ColourPop when shipping was included than from Kylie Cosmetics.

I also found that Kylie's products shipped a lot faster than ColourPop's products did. I have always recieved my Kylie Cosmetics products in under 10 days when I've ordered from them - and I've always recieved my shipping confirmation within a day of making my order, but I found that my ColourPop order didn't ship for at least four days after I made my order and I did not recieve my order until 12 days after making the purchase (though I do not blame this on ColourPop, this is more to do with the postal services of both the US and the UK).

Clockwise (from L-R): Trois, Un, Deux and Quatre

Overall, I genuinely really love the product itself and would definitely, one hundred percent recommend the product and would purchase more of the ColourPop Super Shock Shadows in the future because I absolutely adore the formula and pigmentation of the product. However, the shipping costs and order process are not ideal - I can deal with the order process, that's okay, yes it's slightly annoying that it's such a slow dispatch process, but the shipping is something that really puts me off ordering from America based brands such as ColourPop. I do know that ColourPop have said that they're working on lowering the costs of their international shipping so hopefully this is something that will happen because I can confirm that, if shipping prices were lower, I would constantly be making purchases from the brand because these eyeshadows are incredible. I honestly love them and really urge you to go and purchase them - I'd possibly go as far as to say that they're some of the best eyeshadows I've ever used / purchased. Have you purchased from ColourPop before? If so, what did you get? If not, do you have a ColourPop product wishlist? What does it consist of?
