ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS NORVINA PALETTE | REVIEW

First things first: yes, I am well aware that my review of this eyeshadow palette may be slightly overdue in that the palette actually launched on the 17th of July and mine arrived on the 20th of July but it's better late than never, right? And it's given me plenty of time to test it out and really play with it before sharing my verdict. Either way, this is my review of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette.

As I've mentioned, the palette launched back in July and retails at £43 as is the standard for ABH eyeshadow palettes. The palette is described on the ABH website as 'An essential 14 shade eyeshadow palette featuring Norvina's go-to shades ranging from bold and bright mattes to soft pastel shimmers'. As briefly mentioned, the palette features 14 shades - 7 matte, 7 shimmers - and each pan holding 0.71g each and the palette is cruelty free.

Let's talk packaging: the palette design is the standard ABH design. With square pans, seven on each row and a large (very useful) mirror at the top. The palette also comes with the standard double-ended eyeshadow brush - which is actually very good. I really rate the ABH eyeshadow brushes and it's super handy, to say the least, that all of their eyeshadow palettes come with one. The outer packaging of the palette is purple with the name of the palette - 'Norvina' - written in white text and the Anastasia Beverly Hills logo below, so it's pretty standard for ABH but I tend to find that outer design doesn't really matter when the product inside is (spoiler alert) so good.

Okay so shade range. I have one word for you: dreamy. If you know me, you may know that I've been on a hunt for purple-toned eyeshadow palettes for a long time so you can imagine my excitement when the Norvina palette was announced - 'Celestial' in particular was just screaming my name. The shades are beautiful and, I'd like to say that I'm shocked by that but, unfortunately, I'll back ABH until the end and I'm not afraid to say that they rarely get it wrong. I own four of their palettes and, quite frankly, they're the only palettes I use - no other brand compares in terms of quality, shade selection, formulation and so on - in my eyes, they're virtually unbeatable.

Here are some swatches of the palette:

L-R: 'Dreamer', 'Summer', 'Wild Child', 'Rose Gold', 'Celestial', 'Dazzling' and 'Drama'

L-R: 'Base', 'Soul', 'Incense', 'Love', 'Volatile', 'Eccentric' and 'Passion'

And here is one make up look I created using, conveniently, my favourite shades from the palette:

Shades: 'Base', 'Soul', 'Wild Child', 'Celestial' and 'Dreamer'

It's all about consistency and that is one thing that Anastasia Beverly Hills, as a brand, do well - they have an image and they keep that image up. With the exception of a couple of blips along the way, they never disappoint. So, I think it's fairly obvious what my verdict of the palette is, right? All I'm saying is, if you're anything like me, you need this palette in your life. I can see it becoming a staple in my make up collection and I'm not complaining - it's perhaps one of the best £43's I've spent in my life. Maybe that's an exaggeration. But probably not. Just buy the palette.
