COLOURPOP I THINK I LOVE YOU PALETTE | REVIEW

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you'll know that the cult beauty brand Colourpop have launched a range of pressed powder eyeshadow - both in singular and palette form. The palettes in particular have been on my radar for quite a while now and I finally have one of my own and, today, I'm reviewing it.

The palette in question is the 'I Think I Love You' palette, which I was lucky enough to receive as a birthday present from my lovely friends Lauren and Nicola so I want to say a big thank you to them. I won't lie, all of Colourpop's 12 pan shadow palettes appeal to me, but when looking at them, the palette that appealed to me most in terms of how much usage I could get out of it is the I Think I Love You palette purely because I do tend to lean towards a brown / beige / golden eye look quite frequently so it seemed like the perfect palette for me.

Let me tell you the basics. The palette retails for $16 USD (around £12) and you get twelve shadows at 0.85g each - the shadows are a mixture of matte and metallic. Just for reference, Colourpop are a cruelty free brand and this product is vegan.

First things first: Packaging. I love the packaging, I think it's gorgeous and works so well in terms of representing the shade selection of the palette itself. The palette and box are both slightly reflective copper coloured with gold, white and beige text. Regarding the packaging of the actual palette itself, it's a typical cardboard palette with magnetic closure and no mirror - which, I'm actually not bothered about because I don't tend to use palette mirrors anyway.

The shade selection, as I've briefly mentioned, is perfect for me. It's a palette full of neutrals, browns and golden shades and it's dreamy. The shadows swatch really nicely and they also apply really well. Here are some swatches:

Having only tried a few of Colourpop's lip products and their super shock shadows, I was unsure as to what to expect from their pressed shadows - especially because I'm obsessed with their super shock shadows. I have to say, I haven't been disappointed in this product - granted, there were a couple of shades that in my opinion didn't swatch too well (for example, the black shade 'Let's Do It') but, on the eyes I was really impressed. This is one look I created:

All in all, I do recommend this palette - it definitely gets a 10 out of 10 from me. At $16, can you really complain? I don't tend to wear matte eye looks that often, I always seem to gravitate towards a shimmery eye look and the metallic shades in this palette are incredible - the swatches don't even do them justice. As a standout from the palette, I would say you need to purchase it just for the metallics. I will be purchasing more from Colourpop in the future and their She palette along with the My Little Pony pressed shadow palette are both on my wish list - they're stunning!
