THE HUNNA GIG REVIEW

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter (or any of my social media, really), you may have seen that I recently saw The Hunna on their tour. I went to the Rock City (Nottingham) show on the 20th January and I thought that I would write a little mini gig review on my blog for all of you lovely people.

Okay. First things first, they were incredible. I absolutely adore The Hunna's music and their album (100) has quite honestly become one of my favourite albums so quickly - I could literally listen to it all day every day so if you haven't yet heard any of their music then, seriously, go and listen to some right now. My top picks are 'Piece by Piece', 'Bonfire' and 'She's Casual' - though, the whole album is great.

As I mentioned, the gig was at the iconic Rock City (aka one of the most famous live music venues in the country) and it was an incredible show, I absolutely love Rock City as a venue (the only problem with it is that you stick to the floor) and I really felt that The Hunna fit perfectly with the venue - it was quite obvious that they were super excited to be there and thoroughly enjoying it themselves which, perhaps, made it even more enjoyable for the audience. The show was sold out so I'm super glad that I managed to go and, honestly, the band deserved every single ticket sale for that show - it was insanely good, and the atmosphere was so electric (I hate using that word, but I don't know if there's any other word to describe it).

The band performed a bunch of hits from their album, and you didn't have to be a genius to know that the crowd were absolutely loving it. I recall having beer thrown all over me, my foot squashed by a guy who was enjoying himself so much that he jumped on my feet, being almost pushed down the steps because people were dancing and jumping around and thoroughly enjoying themselves. To be completely honest, the crowd was chaotic but I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was crazy, from the very moment the band stepped on stage, but the buzz was incredible - especially when the boys performed 'Bonfire' and 'She's Casual' - two songs that are definite fan favourites.

I suppose, what I'm getting at is that I had the best night and the lads put on an amazing show and I would really urge you to go to one of their shows, listen to their music and enjoy the experience if you get the opportunity to do so because I honestly do not think anyone would regret it - they're great, and I would say they're on the wavelengths of bands such as Sundara Karma (my faves!), Catfish and the Bottlemen and so on. Incredible.
