♡ MY FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS MOVIES ♡

It's only mid-November so this post may seem slightly premature but, with that being said, I've been really feeling the festive spirit lately and it got me really excited to start a little festive series on my blog. So here we are, kicking off my Christmas-themed posts with a post all about my favourite Christmas movies.

1. ELF
This is probably one of my top Christmas movies of all time (hence why it's on my list of favourites) and it's one that I watch every single year with no exception. I think it's absolutely hilarious and it's a movie that truly puts me in that Christmas-y mood. As with most of the movies on this list, if you haven't already seen it, I genuinely recommend you doing so.

2. THE POLAR EXPRESS
Once again, The Polar Express is a movie that I watch every year around the Christmas period (usually Christmas Eve or the day before Christmas Eve) and have done so since I was little - it's always been a family tradition of ours and, to me, that's when you know it's Christmas. I genuinely love it so much.

3. THE HOLIDAY
Yet again, another incredible festive movie. I love the plot of the film, and I'm obsessed with Cameron Diaz (seriously, I think she's great) so it all makes a perfect movie for a festive themed night. I also love the fact that it's not necessarily centred around Christmas itself as a theme (you know, with Santa and elves, blah blah blah) and it's based around real people. It's by far one of my favourites - in fact, I think it's definitely within my category of favourite films in general of all time, and I honestly think that anyone who hasn't seen it is missing out. In fact, I'm going to watch it once I've finished writing this post.

4. ARTHUR CHRISTMAS
Ah, good old Arthur Christmas. Not necessarily a classic, but it's definitely an amazing movie. I can thoroughly remember going to see this at the cinema when it was released with my brother and my friend, Lucy, and we were all in such a great mood and really embracing the festive spirit and that's the atmosphere and mood that I feel whenever I watch it now. I was thrilled when it was added to Netflix last year and I can honestly say that I have absolutely no shame in admitting that I watch it throughout the entire year and not just Christmas. Oops?

5. DISNEY'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL
If you'd asked me about this movie two or three years ago, I don't think I would've said it was one of my favourites. In fact, I would've most likely said that I hated it. I'm not going to lie to you, it used to scare me - you know, the whole ghost situation? It absolutely TERRIFIED me. Luckily, I grew out of that phase fairly quickly and, while it's not one of my little movie traditions, I do genuinely love the story. I also realise that there are tonnes of different versions of the movie but, while they are all good, the Disney version is by far my favourite.

Christmas is definitely one of my favourite times of the year - I love decorating, celebrating with family and friends and pretty much everything about it. I also know that it's not necessarily all that easy to really get involved with the festive spirit and celebrations (I know I've had times where I've just not been feeling it) but I genuinely think that having a mini (Christmas) movie marathon is a great way to feel festive, whether you do it on your own or grab some friends and make it a group thing. Do you have any fave Christmas movies that aren't on this list?
