♡ September Favourites | 2016 ♡

It's that time once again, my friends. Monthly favourites time. Over the past month, I've been super busy, but I also have quite a few favourites from the past month so, obviously, I wanted to share them with you.

Starting off with music favourites from the month of September, I've been really loving listening to Years and Years' Communion album recently. Yes, I know that it was released way over a year ago now but, since seeing them live at V Festival in August, I've constantly had the album on repeat and I'm remembering how amazing the album is and how much I love it.
Shawn Mendes recently (as in just over a week ago) released his second album, Illuminate, and I am well and truly in love with it. Shawn has been one of my favourite artists for a few years now, and his first album (Handwritten) is still one of my favourites, so it's been really lovely to hear new music from him and it definitely did not disappoint but, having released a great song like 'Treat You Better' as one of the lead singles from the album, I don't think anybody expected it to disappoint anyway.
I went to see Sundara Karma live on Tuesday evening at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and they were incredible. This was my third time seeing the band live in just under a year (I saw them for the first time when they supported the Wombats on their tour, on 28th September 2015) and every single time I see them perform, I'm blown away. They put on such a great show and their music is so great - I'm particularly loving their new single 'She Said' so, if you haven't given them a listen, I strongly suggest you do so.

I have only one beauty favourite this month, and it is the Make Up Geek x Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette. Having ordered this as a little treat for myself after getting my AS level results back in August, it didn't arrive until the 10th September, but it was so worth the wait. I'm in love with this palette. It consists of a gold shade (Nightlight), a rose-y pink shade (Starlight) and a bronze-y shade (Sunlight). I do tend to use the shades 'Nightlight' and 'Starlight' more, because I think that the 'Sunlight' shade is slightly too dark for my fair skintone, but 'Sunlight' is great as an eyeshadow, rather than a highlight on my skin. The packaging is very sleek and lightweight and the formulation of the product is so lovely, and feels quite buttery and smooth. I've been getting a lot of use out of the palette and will continue to do so as I am one hundred percent taking it to New York with me at the end of October.

I have one fashion favourite from the month of September, and it's a very recent purchase but it was super inexpensive (originally £14 but I got it for £12 due to getting student discount) and very, very comfortable and effortlessly pretty. It's an oversized checked shirt from the brand 'Loving Youth' which retails in various Topshop stores around the UK. The shirts come in one size only and are genuinely really comfortable to wear as an oversized shirt. I have absolutely fallen in love with mine and, at £14 each, I definitely want to pop back to get another to take to New York with me.

In terms of YouTube favourites, I've been obsessed with Tati (aka GlamLifeGuru) recently. Her videos are amazing and I absolutely love her as a person, though watching her videos does make me want to go and spend my money on make up - oops. Kathleen Lights is also a favourite of mine - I think she's so lovely and generally enjoy watching her videos. And, finally, Jack Maynard is also a favourite of mine. I think he's absolutely hilarious and I love watching his videos - you can guarantee you're in for a laugh whenever he uploads.

On that note, I think that is all for my September monthly favourites post. Thanks so much for reading and I will see you next week with a brand new post.
