♡ Back to School Beauty | 2016 ♡

Back to school season is well and truly under way, with results day being either this Thursday for A Level students (aka me), or next Thursday for GCSE students. With this in mind, I wanted to write a post all about back to school beauty because, if I'm completely honest, this is one of the only things I actually enjoy about the back to school season. So here I thought I'd share with you my top beauty products, general routines with make up and skincare and my go-to make up look for sixth form and back to school.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't like to get up super early in the mornings (especially on a weekday morning) so I tend to keep my day-to-day make up fairly basic and simple - on most days, I can do my make up in fifteen minutes maximum. In fact, my everyday school make up is also all drugstore make up so it's not only super quick and simple, but also really inexpensive - how great is that?!

My favourite base product is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation - I use the shade 105 Natural Ivory and it costs just £5.99 from Boots or Superdrug. I'm fairly certain that I mentioned this foundation in one of my previous monthly favourites posts (perhaps my June Favourites) and it's safe to say that I still adore the product and consistently use it on an everyday basis.

Along with this foundation, I also love to use the Seventeen Stay Time concealer (another long term favourite of mine) on any blemishes, spots and general imperfections. I tend to finish off my face make up with a translucent pressed powder just to set everything an create more of a matte finish - I mostly use the Make Up Revolution pressed powder which I personally think is really good, and I think I paid £2 for it so it's a major bargain!

A mascara that is another long term favourite of mine is the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara, which I do tend to use a lot on a daily basis - though I do alternate between this and the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara which is yet another long term favourite of mine (it's safe to say that both of these products are my top mascaras of all time). I don't actually tend to wear eyeshadow to school unless I'm going out straight after school or it's a special occasion but if I do wear eyeshadow to school, I'll usually go for a subtle look - probably using a matte shade in the crease and as a base shade and a shimmer as an all over lid shade (I'm most likely to use beige shades or pink shades).

Finally, to tie the look together, I'll usually wear a nude lip colour (usually as in 99.9999% of the time) - I've really been loving the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Abu Dhabi lately so I'm pretty sure this will become a go-to shade for me when it gets round to going back to school.

In terms of skincare for back to school, I do generally stick to the same routine all year round - you know, Simple cleansing wipes, my Simple eye make up remover and then Freederm cleansing wipes. At this point, I'll use my Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Tonic to tone and then go in with my Benefit Total Moisture facial cream to moisturize my face. I also like to do a nose pore strip once a week to clear my pores and I also have a spot zapping gel to put on any major spots or blemishes if they appear unexpectedly.

What's your back to school beauty routine or go-to make up look? I'd love to hear about it, so don't hesitate to let me know! Thanks for reading this post and I shall see you on Wednesday with yet another bonus post - how exciting!
