♡ 2016 Morning Routine ♡

You may recall that, way back in March of 2015, I wrote a post all about my morning routine. Although it may not have changed massively or dramatically, I wanted to write an updated one for you guys - you know, just to keep everyone in the loop. So that is what I am doing today, this is my updated 2016 Morning Routine - enjoy! (PS - this is my daily routine, for a typical weekday where I'll be attending sixth form).

So I tend to wake up between half past six and six forty five AM, but most of the time, I won't actually emerge from my bed until probably just before 7AM - much to my parents' disgust. When I get up, I'll grab my phone and my towels and go for a shower - I listen to music in the shower, so that's why I'll take my phone with me. I actually find that listening to music in the shower helps to speed me up because I'll use it as a timer - roughly two or three songs is ten minutes, and that's how long I'll spend in the shower on a weekday (unless, of course, I somehow manage to get up early). I typically have a shower in the morning, purely because it wakes me up and makes me feel ready for the day - who wants to feel tired and drowsy all day, anyway? Not me. Before I get in the shower, though, I'll take my retainers out and then brush my teeth.

After I've hopped out of the shower, I'll go back to my bedroom (obviously) and pick out an outfit for the day and get dressed. I'll then towel dry my hair a little bit, and then whip out the hairdryer and finish off drying my hair. I tend to only half / three quarter dry my hair because a) it takes too long to completely dry it and I get bored after a bit, b) I'd run out of time if I fully dried it and c) it tends to air-dry quite quickly when the majority of it is already dry.

Then I'll grab my bag for the day and go downstairs to get some breakfast - usually cornflakes or some sort of boring cereal, but it does the job. I'll also get my lunch for the day from the fridge and put it in my bag, along with a bottle of water (it's important to stay hydrated, kids!).

By this time, it's usually about 7:45-ish and I head back upstairs to do my make up and finish off getting ready. To be honest, I don't spend a lot of time doing my make up - it generally takes me between five and ten minutes, actually. I usually go for a pretty simple make up look - foundation (recently, I've been using the Collection Illuminating Touch foundation), a bit of concealer (the Seventeen Stay Time concealer is still my favourite!), a tiny bit of powder (still using my Makeup Revolution translucent pressed powder), mascara (my go-to has been the Maybelline Lash Sensational) and I'll usually wear MAC's Velvet Teddy lipstick on my lips. I'll then do something with my hair - either leave it fully down or do some kind of half-up, half-down situation and then spritz some body spray or perfume on me. And then I'm pretty much ready so I'll go back downstairs and put my shoes on, stick my headphones in and get ready to leave the house and I'm sorted! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is pretty much my morning routine for weekdays! Stick around for the next few weeks because I've got some super exciting posts coming up and I'll also have my night routine post up sometime in the next couple of months.
