♡ Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Review ♡

You may recall back in November when Urban Decay released their eyeshadow palette in collaboration with the one and only, Gwen Stefani. Yes, it was three months ago, which is why this post may seem long overdue but I have finally, finally, finally got around to fitting this post into my schedules (I like to plan my posts months ahead of writing them and posting them).

Urban Decay are a brand that I've grown to love - in fact, it was only a year ago that I purchased my very first product of theirs and yet, my collection is growing. So when they announced their collaboration with one of my favourite childhood musicians (Love Angel Music Baby is still to this day one of my all time favourite albums), I couldn't have been more excited. Obviously, I tried to get the palette on the day of it's launch, but it was typical of my luck that the palette sold out, so I waited and waited for the second batch of stock and almost gave up, until one day - where I received an email saying that it was back in stock (YAY!) so I ordered it. As it turned out, I never received that palette, due to low stock once again but thankfully, Debenhams were stocking the palette at the same time, so I managed to grab one from their website instead.

The packaging is incredible - absolutely gorgeous. As is the quality of the product itself. The pigmentation and formulation of the eyeshadow is beautiful - but what else would you expect from Urban Decay?! The palette has the perfect mixture of mattes, shimmers and those super bright and 'out there' shades which makes it the perfect palette for everyone. On a daily basis, I've noticed that I tend to go for more nude / pink based shades but the shimmery options rather than matte and this palette has been my go-to for eyeshadow since mid December when I purchased it. My favourite shades from the palette are 'Baby', 'Pop' and 'Steady' for a shimmery look, but I love 'Zone' and 'Stark' from the matte shades. I haven't really played around with the brighter colours much, but I think 'Harajuku' is a gorgeous shade, and I did use it for one of my photoshoots for a project at sixth form and I love it - I just don't tend to wear it myself.

Overall, as you may have gathered, I adore the palette and would obviously recommend it. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that if you only have one Urban Decay product, this should be it. It's incredible and definitely worth the money - £40 from Urban Decay's website, and selected retailers.
