OOTD: PROM

Hello everybody. Oh my gosh, I am so unbelievably excited for this post ahhh. Some of you may know (if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter etc.) that on Friday night, it was my year 11 prom. I have now officially left school (well, I left on the 16th June) and have basically been set free into the world. So, for this post, I decided that I'd like to share a snippet of my prom night with you guys - that means an OOTD post (more like an outfit of the night post but OOTD works too) and a few pictures from the night. I'm going to quickly talk you through my make up along with my accessories and dress etc. so, naturally, I'm going to start with my outfit.

My dress was purchased back in February or March (you have to be prepared for these things!) and it was from AX Paris - you can still purchase it on their official website. My dress was only £45 - which is extremely cheap compared to the cost of some of my friends' dresses. I didn't want to spend an excessive amount of money on my dress because I wouldn't wear it again so I decided that I'd rather spend more money on my shoes and accessories because I would use and wear them again so obviously it's less of a waste of money.

My jewelry is all Ted Baker and was purchased from John Lewis. I was lucky enough to have both pieces of jewelry that I wanted purchased for me. My lovely Mum purchased the bow bracelet for me while my Auntie purchased the earrings for me. I absolutely love these pieces of jewelry because they are both so simple and dainty but look so effortlessly stunning to wear them. I went with the silver jewelry because I had already purchased my bag (we'll get to that soon) and the detailing in my outfit as a whole was silver so it seemed to be the logical choice - yet still as beautiful. Both pieces of jewelry were £29 each.

My shoes are from Next. They were £38 and I love them. They are so unbelievably comfortable and easy to walk in - which is a major factor in deciding whether to buy a pair of shoes or not, obviously for prom you're going to want to have shoes that are comfortable and easy to walk in (it's actually a really long, tiring night for your feet! Just think of all that dancing...). I believe these shoes are from the Next leather collection (but don't hold me to that). I think that these shoes are so easy to wear and style because you can wear them with basically anything.

My clutch bag is from Accessorize and it's black glittery with a silver metal bar across (which is the button to close the bag). It was £15 and I really love it. However, though I do love it, I don't think that it's the type of bag I'll be getting much use of - at least not for a while anyway.

Okay, for beauty I'll just quickly tell you guys the products that I used for my prom make-up look. The first product I used is the No. 7 Essentially Natural foundation in the shade Calico. There's a little story behind this purchase - I went into my local Boots planning on purchasing the Loreal Infallible matte foundation but when I was talking to the sales assistant (who worked on the No. 7 counter), we decided it would be better to get a normal foundation instead of matte, purely because I don't wear foundation on an everyday basis. She then said that she knew exactly what shade I would be in the No. 7 Essentially Natural foundation range and gave me a little tester pot of the shade I would need, and let me just say how much I love it - it's a great foundation and I obviously went back and purchased the full sized version of it. It cost me £9.95 which is slightly expensive for me, but I definitely think it's worth the money.

The second product I used for my prom make up look is the Sleek MakeUp iQuad eyeshadow and eyeliner palette in the shade 'Medusa's Kiss' which is a grey/silver shimmery shaded palette - great for matching my make up to the whole silver theme of my accessories and detailing of my outfit. With this, I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion just to make sure my eyeshadow stayed on for the entire night.
For mascara I used my all time favourite mascara - the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara in the shade blackest black (yes, I usually have the brown-black shade but I picked up the wrong one - oops!) because I love it and it really does give my lashes extra length and volume and it's honestly the greatest mascara I've ever purchased. I love it.

Finally, for lips, I purchased the Bourjois Color Boost chubby stick/lip crayon in the shade Proudly Naked. I didn't want a lipstick that would be crazy bright or super bold, I wanted to keep my lips quite natural so when I came across this product in Superdrug I was super excited to purchase it. I might do a full review on this product in a few weeks so keep your eyes out for that.

I think that's everything for this post and for my 'get ready with me'/OOTD post from my prom. I really hope you guys liked this post and I would love it if you commented down below letting me know what your prom 'look' was like or, if you didn't go to prom, if you have any of these products I used.
