ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS RIVIERA PALETTE | REVIEW

As always seems to be the case, nowadays, yes; I am well aware that I'm a little late on this bandwagon. I know this palette actually launched back on the 4th March but, as a huge ABH fan, I really wanted to review this palette and so, here we are.

First things first, as mentioned, the Riviera palette launched back in March, and retails for £46, or $45 - so slightly more expensive than the standard £43 for previous Anastasia Beverly Hills palette launches. The Anastasia Beverly Hills website describes the palette as '14 ALL-NEW paradise-inspired mattes and metallics, from vibrant jewel tones to bright pops of color. Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Palette is an essential springtime color collection featuring classic neutrals and seasonal tones that are perfect for creating your ultimate vacation looks'.

The palette holds 14 shades - six metallics and eight mattes, with each pan holding 0.73g of product. As always with Anastasia Beverly Hills products, the palette is cruelty free.

Let's start with packaging. As usual, the packaging is gorgeous. With blue and white striped packaging, the theme feels very nautical - just like being on holiday, by the sea - kind of expected being that the name of the palette is 'Riviera'. With gold shimmery text and blue shiny cardboard elements, the packaging simply is the epitome of the theme of the palette. And it's absolutely stunning.

In terms of shade range, the palette is nothing but a dream. I'm not normally one to go for bright eyeshadow looks but, lately, I've been changing it up a little bit and, when this palette got revealed, I was instantly drawn to it - it wasn't a want but it was a need. Surprisingly - bearing in mind that I normally go for bronze-toned eye looks - the shades that really caught my eye were 'Seychelles', 'Bahamas' and 'Seaside' and I haven't been disappointed.

Here are some swatches (and yes, I know I still need to practice swatching):

Top to bottom: Sails, Yacht, Seychelles, Palermo, Seaside, Inheritance, Mediterranean

Top to bottom: Estate, Cabana, Coastline, Bahamas, Monte Carlo, Cannes, Palm

The formulation of the palette is nothing you wouldn't expect from a brand like ABH. I genuinely, whole-heartedly believe that they can't do anything wrong (apart from maybe that little Subculture scandal), and they will one hundred percent remain my favourite make up brand until probably the end of time. If anything, Anastasia Beverly Hills is the one brand that I trust more than any other - I've never once been disappointed by their products and will hype them up to any person I speak to. To me, they're pretty much unbeatable - and no brand is even close to comparing.

So, basically, I'm kind of in love with this palette - and I can see it being an absolute summer staple for me. Who am I kidding? I've barely put it down already, and we're only in April! If you couldn't guess, I 100% recommend the product - go on, treat yourself. Spice up your make up routine a little bit. Add a bit of colour. Go wild. It's worth it.
