CURRENT FAVOURITES | APRIL - JUNE 2018

Well well well, it's been a while, hasn't it? It's a little embarrassing but, to be completely honest, I don't remember the last time I sat down and properly wrote a blog post. As I've briefly mentioned on my blog, I'm currently working full time (doing paralegal work) - Monday to Friday, 8:45 to 5 - in order to pay my rent at university. As a result of this very exciting Summer (it's really not as bad as it seems), I've not really had much time to do anything but work, eat and sleep but fear not, I'm a bit more in the swing of things and my blog is back at the top of my list of priorities so, without further ado, here are my current favourites from the months of April to June.

As per usual, we'll start with beauty favourites - and, shockingly, there aren't actually many at all. Firstly, if you've seen any make up themed blog posts of mine recently, you won't be surprised by this one at all - it's the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette. I purchased this back in February, I believe, and it's been pretty much the only palette I've used since. It's basically my dream eyeshadow palette and it's the only one I'm going to be taking on holiday with me - to put it simply, I'm obsessed.

My second and final beauty favourite is a body mist that was featured in my previous blog post (aka my very small Sephora haul). It's the Sephora Pillow Battle body mist. I picked this up on my trip to Rome at the end of May and, although I only properly started using it a couple of weeks ago, it's been my go-to scent and I'm really enjoying it. It's a very fresh yet sweet scent and it's lovely so I'm quite clearly happy with that.

Next up is fashion favourites and, again, I really don't have that many - more precisely: I have one. I've really been loving stripes lately. I'm not shocked because I always like stripes but, lately, stripes have been my go-to pattern on clothing. To be more specific, I'm obsessed with these striped paperbag trousers from Pull and Bear. I purchased these a couple of months ago and they've definitely been a staple in my wardrobe since. Paired with my old school vans and a plain black t-shirt - it's one of my favourite outfits.

I have a fair few music favourites in this instalment so I won't go into too much detail. I've been really loving The Neighbourhood's self-titled album, George Ezra's Staying At Tamara's, Charlie Puth's Voicenotes, Shawn Mendes' self-titled album, 5 Seconds Of Summer's Youngblood album and I've also been listening to a lot of Take That lately - call me cringey if you will, but I'm fully obsessed. And I'm not even embarrassed about it.

In terms of tours and live music, I've been to a lot of gigs this year so far. The Vamps' tour was obviously a highlight of such - they never disappoint and we all know that they're my favourite so I'm sure nobody is surprised about their appearance in this blog post. I also went to All Points East festival at the start of June and finally saw Blossoms, The Neighbourhood (!!!) and Catfish and the Bottlemen live and they were all incredible so, obviously, they were making an appearance in this post.

I actually attended The Band musical when it was in Nottingham during the past couple of weeks. All I have to say is that I absolutely adored it. It's an emotional rollercoaster - the smile didn't leave my face for the entire show, even when I was crying. It features the music of Take That (we love) and I honestly loved it. I would see it every night if I could - it's basically all I can think about and I'm so incredibly happy that my friend and I made the - very last minute - decision to get tickets. It was worth more than we could ever have realised. Obsessed is the only word for it.

Moving on to TV and movie favourites, now - and this is where I realise how quickly time flies. I finally finished watching Gilmore Girls in May and, oh my goodness, I'm so obsessed with it - it actually hurts my heart. All I'm saying is that, if you're like me and almost gave up in season four, season five is where it gets a million times better - I didn't want it to end! I am also obsessing over The Bold Type - it's basically a show centred around three women working in the magazine industry in New York, trying to navigate life and it's incredible. End of.

Onto movies now; I've been to the cinema a fair amount over the past couple of months so, to avoid spoilers and a ridiculously long post, I'm just going to list the films that have made it into my faves. Firstly, Lady Bird (amazing), Love, Simon was incredible and Life Of The Party made me cry with laughter - I don't remember the last time I had tears streaming down my face because of a movie.

And finally, I've got a book favourite - Match Made in Manhattan by Amanda Stauffer. I finished this book in maybe two days and absolutely loved it. I couldn't put it down so I would one hundred percent recommend it!

Okey dokey, so that concludes this installation of my current favourites series. Again, I am sorry for the lack of photos in this post - a couple of the items are packed up in boxes from moving home from university and others are packed to come on holiday with me! What are your favourites at the moment? Let me know!
