NEW FAVOURITE MASCARA?!

If you've been anywhere near the internet for the past few weeks, you'll have seen (and heard) all the hype about the new L'Oreal Paradise mascara - I know I certainly have. It's always exciting when a drugstore brand launches a new product and, for me, mascara is the drugstore product that I can't live without - I only own one high end mascara and, to be completely honest, I can't see myself purchasing any high end mascaras any time soon because drugstore brands have so much to offer in the field. L'Oreal has quickly become my go-to, favourite drugstore brand (their lipsticks and foundations are my favourite) and so, naturally, when they launched this new mascara, I had to pick it up. 

The L'Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara is supposed to give 'intense volume' and 'spectacular long lashes', according to the packaging - it is also said to be a 'pleasure to apply'. To get the technical bit out of the way, the mascara holds 6.4ml of product and the only shade available is black - at least to my knowledge this is the only shade. I believe that the product retails at £11.99 but at the time of my purchase, most places (Boots and Superdrug) had an introductory offer of £9.99.

The packaging for the product is stunning. As you can see from the photos, the packaging is pink and bronze and I think it looks really sleek and lovely. The packaging is also quite lightweight when I compare it to other mascaras I've tried - though this is probably because the product only holds 6.4ml while most of my other mascaras hold around 9ml of product.

A lot of reviews have compared this mascara to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and, looking at the brush, I can see why. While I haven't actually tried the Too Faced mascara, the brush applicator for the L'Oreal mascara definitely bears a resemblance and, given that the Too Faced mascara is one of the most coveted, cult beauty products of all time, these comparisons tell me that the L'Oreal Paradise mascara is one to look out for.

Obviously, I couldn't write a review without actually trying out the mascara and I was pleasantly surprised with the product. I really like the mascara. It definitely made my lashes look longer and provided the intense volume that it promises. It felt lovely and lightweight on my lashes and I really enjoyed wearing it. I could definitely tell a difference from my natural lashes and I could also tell a difference when I compared it to my all time favourite mascara - the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara, though this difference wasn't as dramatic. Also, I apologise for the lack of make up and ugly eyebrows in these photos.

All in all, I am really impressed by the L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara and I would definitely recommend it. According to L'Oreal, it's set to launch officially in August - though it is already available from Boots and Superdrug so, if you take anything from this post it's that you need this mascara in your life. I'm always on the lookout for a new mascara (correction - new drugstore mascara) and, despite constantly trying new ones, this is the best I've tried since I discovered the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara, in fact, it may be a contender for my favourite mascara - and that's saying something because, as we all know, that's my holy grail, all time fave.
