♡ 'Bliss' Book Review ♡

Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog. Today, I'm here with quite a different post for me and it's actually my first ever book review on my blog - how exciting! If you know me, you'll probably know that I love reading and once I get into a book, I can finish it in a couple of days. A few weeks ago, I started 'Bliss', a novel by Shay Mitchell and Michaela Blaney and I finished it in two nights - I just could not put it down.

I found that it was a very easy read and didn't require much thought or brain power to read it. It's a super fun book that focuses around the three main characters - Sophia, Demi and Leandra. The novel revolves around the three characters who are best friends and set out to each find their 'Bliss' in life. Sophia wants to be an actress and the novel follows her on her 'path to fame' as she goes through the many ups and downs of Hollywood and her dream career. Demi basically sets out to find her dream job and be successful, but comes into some trouble along the way. Leandra, however, is focused on finding her dream man.

I found that Sophia is generally the character that's most likeable, although I did find her slightly annoying at times. Leandra is definitely the character that's the least likeable and Demi is in the middle, your favourite at some points but it's more difficult to like her at other times throughout the novel.

The book is described as 'relatable' which I wouldn't quite agree with. Yes, some points in the book could be quite relatable but, on the whole, maybe it's a bit of a stretch.

The general vibe of the book is all about friendship and sticking together and supporting eachother through thick and thin and I really loved the novel. As I mentioned earlier, it took me two evenings to finish the book so I would definitely recommend it for a quick read. The novel kind of gives the reader the impression that it's the first installment of a series, but whether this is actually what's happening remains to be seen. Each of the characters are in their early twenties so that's quite possibly the reason for the cliffhanger-like ending to the novel. There's more to come in their lives, so can we really get a happily ever after type ending so early in their lives? No.

Overall, I'd rate the book 4.5 stars and would recommend it for a quick, easy read. Full of heartache, friendship, travel and adventure, 'Bliss' is definitely worth a read if you have the chance.
