Back To School: Hair & Make Up

Today, I am starting my Back To School Duo - basically, this week's post and next week's post are both dedicated to Back To School. Originally, I was going to do three posts and make it into a little mini series but something really exciting recently popped up and I'm going to be writing all about it in an upcoming post, so instead of having three back to school posts, I've combined my back to school hair post with my back to school make up post and now there will be two posts (hence why it's my Back To School Duo).

Anyway, as you can tell, this post is dedicated to the perfect hair and make up for back to school so I have a make up look and three hairstyles for you guys so I hope you like them! Typically, for school, I think that the simpler the look, the better it is. You have a limited time to get ready for school (or college, etc.) so you want to look (and feel!) as good as possible but not be spending hours in the morning getting ready, am I right or am I right?!

This make up look is so simple and probably takes less than ten minutes - perfect. Okay, so you want to start off with a base (I've recently been using the No7 Essentially Natural Foundation in the shade Calico but BB creams work too!) and blend it in like you would normally. Then, if you want to or feel you need to, grab a concealer and cover up any blemishes, spots or imperfections - I recommend the Seventeen Stay Time concealer (I use the shade fair, if you were wondering). Obviously this is optional (as are all of these steps) but on days that you have a little extra time or want to make an extra effort, you may want to add some eye shadow or something extra to your look - if I want to wear eye shadow to school, it's very likely that I'll go with a neutral, matte shade and it's probably going to be from the Naked 2 Basics palette because it's perfect for everyday and the shades are all flawless. Anyway, next up is mascara, which is my ultimate beauty essential - if I had to choose only one make up item to use for the rest of my life, it would be mascara (and my favourite mascara is the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara in blackest black - my ultimate holy grail product right there). Finally, to add a slight pop of colour (or not, depending on which you choose), add a lip product. Typically, I'll go for either a Baby Lips (Peach Kiss is my favourite) or my Bourjois color boost chubby stick in the shade 'Proudly Naked'.

Going on to hairstyles now, for me, simplicity is key - once again. All three hairstyles are super easy to do and are also really quick. So I'm just going to describe each hairstyle because it really is super simple.

Hairstyle 1: Typically straight and simple - or curly and simple if you have naturally curly hair.

Hairstyle 2: Plaits to curls (Kind of a two-in-one, plaits lead to curls when you take them out!).

Hairstyle 3: Simple but chic ponytail.

See you next week for more Back to School fun! Xo.
